Call for papers: The Third Nordic Conference on Cultural Policy Resarch

Bø in Telemark, Norway

August 23-24, 2007

 

The Centre for Cultural and Sports Studies, Bø, and the Arts Council of Norway, Oslo, now invites you to submit an abstract to a paper to the Third Nordic Conference on Cultural Policy Research, that will be organised at Telemark University College, Bø, Norway, August 23-24, 2007.

 

The purpose of the Nordic conference is to contribute to the discussion of cultural policy research issues with particular relevance for the Nordic countries. The conference should support Nordic research in this field, and promote further transnational exchange of high quality research experiences.

 

The conference primarily aims to recruit researchers, especially researchers who will present papers for discussion, but also other researchers that are interested in cultural policy research. The conference is also open for others that are interested in cultural policy research (people in the cultural sector, media).

 

Topics

There is no fixed theme of the conference. Rather, participants are invited to present research contributions within a wide range of topics and with different theoretical/methodological approaches, for instance:

- decentralisation and globalisation

- local and regional cultural policy

- cultural identity

- cultural policy as welfare policy

- institutionalisation/de-institutionalisation

- privatisation and creative alliances

- artist policy

- models and strategies of cultural policy

- culture and gender

- history of cultural policy

- cultural policy and international relations

- cultural policy and development policy

- cultural policy and theory

- cultural policy and cultural heritage

 

Deadline for submission of abstracts was January 15, 2007

 

Deadline for registration and payment of registration fee is June 1, 2007.
