4th Nordic Conference on Cultural Policy Research

Fourth Nordic Conference on Cultural Policy Research will take place in Jyväskylä, Finland 19 - 22 August, 2009. The conference is organized by The Cultural Policy unit of Jyväskylä University in collaboration with Cupore (Foundation for Cultural Policy Research), Ministry of Education and the Arts Council of Finland.

 

Similar conferences on cultural policy research have earlier been organised in Århus (2003), Borås (2005) and Bø (2007). Nordic conferences on Cultural Policy will be biannually in rotation with International Conference on Cultural Policy Research (ICCPR).

 

The upcoming theme of the forth conference is Power and Ethics in Cultural Policy. The purpose of the Nordic conference is to contribute to the discussion of cultural policy research issues with particularly relevance for the Nordic countries. The aim of the conference is both to support Nordic Cultural Policy research and to promote the transnational exchange of high quality research expertise. Participants are invited from all the Nordic countries but as well from the Baltic Countries.

 

Thus the conference aims also to increase the communication between the Nordic Cultural Policy research and the neighboring areas.
Keynote speakers of the conference are Prof. Suzanne Oboler (John Jay College of Criminal Justice of The City University of New York, USA) and Prof. Gerhard Schulze (University of Bamberg, Germany).

 

The conference organizers seek to attract cultural policy researchers with papers for discussion. In addition the conference will be open for experts, research recruits and students in the Cultural Policy field.

 

The programme will include keynote speeches, presentations of papers (Call for Papers) and proposed sessions (Call for Sessions) as well as presentations of posters (Call for Posters).
