The programme for the State of Cultural Policy event has now been published!
On this page you can explore the event’s speakers and themes.

The event features two programmes: a free, open-access morning session and a paid afternoon session. The morning session is also available to follow online via livestream. 

The programme is primarily in Finnish, with some sessions in Swedish and English

Registration for the event will open on 15 April at Cupore’s website.

Morning

The State of Cultural Policy event is opened by Johanna Tuukkanen, Director of Cupore.

The central element of the morning programme is the launch of the State of Cultural Policy 2025 report. The report draws from recent research on Finnish cultural policy and opens perspectives on the future of cultural policy and its monitoring.

The report will be presented by Vappu Renko, Senior Researcher at Cupore.

A summary of participants’ views on the current state of cultural policy. Perspectives are collected from registered participants before the event via a survey.

The morning programme culminates in a panel discussion on the current state, challenges and opportunities of cultural policy. The discussion is moderated by Johanna Tuukkanen, Director of Cupore.

The afternoon programme requires a paid ticket and is open to on-site participants only.

The afternoon programme continues the discussion by focusing on possible futures for cultural policy. Participants will take part in parallel thematic dialogues exploring these futures from multiple perspectives.

This dialogue explores cultural rights and responsibilities in future cultural policy decision-making. (language: Swedish)

Evening Programme

Following the formal programme, participants are invited to a guided visit to the Generation2026 exhibition at Amos Rex.

The evening concludes with informal networking at the bar of the Lasipalatsi restaurant.
