Library

The Special Library for Cultural Policy and Copyright is accessible to researchers, students and others interested in the topic. The library is located at our office here in Cupore.  The library is jointly managed by the Finnish Copyright Society and Cupore.

In terms of cultural policy, the library’s collection is developed based on the needs of Cupore’s researchers and research projects. The core of the collection comes from a unique cultural policy collection of about 5,000 volumes donated in 2012 by the Arts Council of Finland (now the Arts Promotion Centre Finland). It includes literature on the arts and cultural policy of various countries, the professional roles, status, activities, and operational cultures of organizations and cultural sector actors, as well as cultural economics, marketing, sales and export, authorship and its history, cultural sociology, multiculturalism, trade policy, economic policy, public administration, and municipal management.

Our online catalogue can be browsed in CUTE Finna. The name of the library’s database, CUTE, is derived from a combination of “Cupore” and “tekijänoikeus” (copyright in Finnish).

The library is open to everyone and operates on weekdays, Monday to Friday, by appointment. Please schedule an appointment in advance to borrow materials.
